Cash is King. An onsite ATM gives your customers cash in hand.
Despite the phenomenal growth in 'plastic' payments, cash remains a crucial part of every consumer payment model. Cash is used not only for purchases in your establishment, but for a variety of other related payments outside your location - tips, allowances, parking, low dollar purchases, vending machines, car washes, etc. ATM's provide a solution for your customers - a place to get cash fast. This convenience can be a profitable service for you - providing you a virtually labor-free income stream!

Benefits of an onsite ATM
Builds Traffic - People depend on ATMs for cash. An ATM at your location attracts customers by allowing them to combine banking and shopping in one trip. Consumers will modify buying patterns to combine shopping and banking. Increased foot traffic is the #1 reason there are ATMs inside 7-11's. The reason is simple. Potential customers will pass by to get cash somewhere else and might not find their way back to spend it in their store. Customers today will choose a merchant with an ATM for the security and convenience of completing a transaction inside of a location. Research shows 51% of consumers between the ages 25-49 use ATMs 8 times a month.
Builds Sales - Up to 20% of the money withdrawn from an ATM is spent in that store. And research shows a typical ATM customer spends 20-25% more than a non-ATM customer. ATM users withdraw an average of $80 per transaction.
Create Loyalty - Having an ATM can build customer loyalty by providing services customers expect. Studies estimate 2-5 percent of foot traffic will use your ATM.
Customer Service - During the last few years ATM usage has grown to twice that of Check Cashing services and three times that of Money Orders. ATM usage become one of the most used service at convenience stores.
Decreased Credit Card and Check Expense - There are a significant segment of credit card users who would prefer to pay in cash, given the opportunity. These cash buyers would reduce usage of your credit card processing systems, cutting down on processing costs. Additionally, cash eliminates the risk of check acceptance or the cost of check guarantee services. Plus you are earning surcharge revenue.
Surcharge Revenue –The ATM owner and vault cash provider receive the majority of surcharge revenues. Your overall strategy should be to get as many potential customers to use your machine as possible. It's better to have 400 people a month use your ATM at $2.00 per transaction, than to have 267 people use it for $3.00. While both scenarios generate $800 a month in surcharge revenue, the $2.00 scenario gives you an extra 133 customers a month, while putting thousands of dollars into their spending hands.
E.B.T. (Electronic Benefit Transfers) - The federal government has rolled out many E.B.T. programs. Subsidy checks, which formerly came through the mail, are now distributed electronically through ATM compatible cards. Think of the possibility as the proliferation of ATMs takes on new exciting income opportunities.
